We had our doubts, too!
Before the pandemic, we were skeptical about providing therapy virtually, too.
As you consider Virtual Therapy, many questions will probably enter your mind.
Can Virtual Therapy be as effective as in-person therapy? Will I receive the results I need through a computer screen? Is therapy via a computer the same as in-person therapy?
We had the same questions.
The answer to your questions is YES – and more!
Providing therapy virtually this past year has taught us that Virtual Therapy is effective.
Our clients have told us repeatedly that Virtual Therapy is as effective, if not more effective, than their previous in-person sessions.
They witnessed results, accomplished their goals, and transformed their lives.
And, yes, all via a computer screen!
Convenience is a benefit of Virtual Therapy.
For people unable to travel to meet with the therapist most suitable for them, Virtual Therapy provides a means to meet anyone, anywhere.
Responsibilities at home and childcare make in-person therapy burdensome. Not Virtual Therapy – receiving it is one room away.
Some clients live busy lives, full of booked schedules, with lunch hour being the only option. You don’t need to take hours off work with Virtual Therapy because scheduling is not a problem.
Let’s face it, traffic in Atlanta is horrible any time of the day, so Virtual Therapy is beneficial because you can avoid all that!
Virtual Therapy provides access to a variety of therapists.
Because we can provide services across the state of Georgia, Virtual Therapy opens up a world of possibilities for those seeking to choose a therapist not by location, but by compatibility.
In cities where the number of Black therapists is sometimes few, Virtual Therapy allows access to the entire state.
Receive comfort at the click of a switch.
We’ve found that many people find it easier to open up in Virtual Therapy while in the comfort of their home. Home is familiar and known. It’s your space!
There’s a feeling of intimacy when we peep into a part of you that is so deeply personal and true to who you are. Such connection allows you to take things to the next level.
You can even have your emotional support animal right there with you.
Getting started is not a problem.
Our sessions will include some familiar virtual devices (phone, computer, or tablet) and the Internet.
That’s all there is to it!
Security is not a problem. We use secure, HIPAA-compliant forms of video conferencing (so not Facetime or Google Duo) to ensure that your confidentiality and privacy stay protected.
We only ask that you put your devices on do not disturb, get somewhere private where you can talk openly, and allow yourself to experience the process.
Stop doubting – Virtual Therapy is here to stay.
We will eventually start transitioning back to in-person sessions, but Virtual Therapy will always be an option.
